NAR 2026 President Message
NAR 2026 President Message

Greetings to all,

As we begin a new year under new leadership, you may notice a slightly different writing style in these messages.

While styles may change, our shared purpose, values, and commitment to the North Alabama Region remain the same.As we embark on a new year, I want to extend my warmest wishes for a happy and prosperous 2026.
This year also marks our 65th anniversary as a club, first organized in 1961 as the Huntsville Antique Automobile Club. In 1962 the club submitted a petition for charter to the national AACA and was granted that petition on October, 12 1962 under the NAR name. In February 1963 the AACA charter was presented to the membership of the club. With those milestones in mind, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for everyone’s dedication, hard work, and contributions. Your commitment and enthusiasm have been instrumental in our continued success, and I am truly grateful.

2025 was a tremendous year for NAR. We showed up in numbers at many events and we won awards, lots of awards. Our wide variety of cars and trucks continues to set us apart. And, of course, we can’t forget those members who always seem to win the door prizes or the 50/50, some more often than others, we know who you are.
We supported cruises hosted by other clubs, and they returned that support to us.
One of the highlights of the year was our cruises to retirement homes. Seeing the smiles on our seniors’ faces and hearing their stories about cars they once owned, cars many of us now drive, was truly special.
Our annual November car show was a huge success, and we are already looking forward to making it even bigger and better this year. The parades, the Memorial Day picnic, thank you to the Scites for hosting, as always and our dinner meetings all drew great crowds and gave us time to connect as members and friends. Garage crawls, scenic cruises, and dinners out never disappoint.

Jeff’s jokes… I’ll leave it at that.

And our Christmas party was once again, a wonderful evening filled with great food, fellowship, music, prizes, awards and a visit from Santa.2025 was a great year because of the strong foundation built by our past leadership, and for that, I offer my sincere thanks. 2026 promises to be another strong year, and our officers and Board are committed to keeping NAR growing and thriving. Remember, this is your club. If you have ideas or suggestions for future events, please share them with me or any officer or Board member.
I look forward to seeing everyone on January 22 at 6:30 p.m. for the NAR Monthly Meeting at Signals Museum, 1806 University Dr. NW, Huntsville, AL 35801.

Please plan to attend, as we will be proposing the club’s direction for 2026 and we welcome everyone’s participation.
